most-used utilities

Match a logo color

Open the logo PNG and click the solid part of the mark.

Sample a photo palette

Pick three or four flat areas and compare the recent swatches.

Reuse a screenshot color

Click the background and copy the hex straight into your stylesheet.

pro tips

Sample the middle of a flat region, not the border between two colors.

Use the recent swatches to compare candidates before committing to one.

If you need the exact original pixel, crop first so the image is not scaled down in the preview.

what it does

Open an image and click a pixel. The page reads that pixel from the canvas and shows its hex, RGB and HSL values, ready to copy. No design app, no eyedropper tool, no uploading the file to a stranger's server.

It is useful for matching a brand color from a logo, sampling a palette from a photograph, checking the exact shade in a screenshot, or grabbing a background color you want to reuse in CSS.

Click a flat area rather than an edge. Anti-aliasing and JPEG compression blend neighboring colors near boundaries, so the pixel you pick can be a few shades off from what your eye calls "the" color. A solid patch gives a cleaner answer.

The preview is scaled down for large images, so the sampled pixel comes from the resized canvas. Recent colors are kept in the page so you can compare several picks without writing them down.

quick answers

Is my image uploaded?

No. The image is drawn to a canvas in your browser and the pixel is read locally. Nothing is sent to a server.

Why is the color slightly different from what I expected?

The preview is scaled for large images, and JPEG compression blends neighboring pixels. Sampling a flat area gives a more reliable value.

Does it support WebP or AVIF?

Not in this version. It accepts JPEG and PNG, the two formats that every browser handles without compatibility checks.
