pro tips
Keep the title near 60 characters and the description near 160. Search engines and social cards are ruthless editors.
Use a wide image, around 1200 by 630, for large cards. A square logo stretched across the width looks like a warning sign.
Write the description for a person deciding whether to click. The crawler was never going to click anyway.
what it does
A link dropped into a chat is judged in about a second: one image, one headline, one line of text. This tool builds the tags that decide those three things, without asking you to remember whether the attribute is property or name.
Fill in the title, description, address, image, site name and handle. The counters track the lengths search results and social cards usually show, and the tag block rewrites itself as you type. Leave the image empty and you get a summary card; add one and the large card appears.
Open Graph does most of the work across Slack, Discord, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and the rest. Twitter and X read their own tags, so the output includes both sets rather than hoping one covers everything. There is no fetching and no preview of your live page — just the markup, assembled cleanly.
Paste the result inside the page head, then open the published URL in a chat window to see what the world gets. If the card looks wrong, the fix is usually a title that ran long or an image that no one can reach.
quick answers
Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter tags?
Yes, if you want control on both. Most platforms read Open Graph, while Twitter and X prefer their own tags, and including both costs only a few lines.
Does this tool check my live page?
No. It only assembles tags from what you type and never fetches your site. Paste the result into your template, then test the published page with the platform's own preview.
Why do the character counts matter?
Search results and social cards cut long titles and descriptions, often mid-sentence. The counters show where the usual limits sit so the important words land before the ellipsis.
